The theme assigned to the competition revolves around the story of a young entrepreneur, Davide Esposito, founder of the distillery "La Torre" in Sorrento, where he produces the gin "Borea". Inspired by a chance meeting in London, Davide decided to create a gin that combines innovation and tradition, enhancing the territory and emotions. The distillation is now accompanied by the production of a tonic water called "Emera", designed to perfectly accompany gin. His project aims to offer a unique sensory experience, addressed to an audience attentive to quality, also through a careful and narrative packaging, transforming each bottle into a collector’s item and every sip into a journey.
Boreas is also called the north wind, deified in the past by the ancient Greeks. The wind is an element moved by precise atmospheric principles which influence its characteristics, making it only partially predictable. Thinking of the wind, I also thought of the kite, an object characterized by a well-defined geometric shape that allows it to face the wind
while remaining suspended between air currents. The key concept of the project therefore revolves around geometric unpredictability governed by precise compositional rules, conveyed through the protagonist typeface: the Crackly.
